The Tinker Homestead is an 1830 cobblestone home listed on the National Register of Historic Places and depicts farming life in the late 1800’s.
History
In 1812, James and Rebecca Tinker traveled in an ox cart from Connecticut to Henrietta with their six children and all of their belongings. When they first arrived, the area was called the Town of Boyle. The Tinkers purchased forty acres of land with two previously built log cabins. The Tinker Family occupied the homestead for six generations and experienced the formation of the Town of Henrietta (1818) and Monroe County (1821).
