The Power of Assets

The 40 Developmental Assets represent everyday wisdom about positive experiences and characteristics for young people.  Search Institute research has found that these assets are powerful influences on adolescent behavior - both protecting young people from many different risky behaviors, and promoting positive attitudes and actions.

Youth are welcome to attend meetings at any time; please contact us by phone, email or our Facebook page for a meeting schedule.

"You have control over three things-
What you think, what you say, and how you behave.
To make change in your life, you must recognize that
These gifts are the most poweful
Tools you possess in shaping the
Form of your life."

The Tinker Homestead is an 1830 cobblestone home listed on the National Register of Historic Places and depicts farming life in the late 1800’s.

History

In 1812, James and Rebecca Tinker traveled in an ox cart from Connecticut to Henrietta with their six children and all of their belongings. When they first arrived, the area was called the Town of Boyle. The Tinkers purchased forty acres of land with two previously built log cabins. The Tinker Family occupied the homestead for six generations and experienced the formation of the Town of Henrietta (1818) and Monroe County (1821).
