Dear Resident, The Town of Henrietta has approved the Rochester View Apartment project located at 4365 West Henrietta Road. Part of this project includes a utility connection to be made across Post Hill Drive. This connection will include a temporary road closure of Post Hill Drive between house #8 and #12. At this time the contractor has scheduled this work to be completed during the week of May 5th, 2014. Due to weather and other unforeseen issues this schedule may be changed. The Town of Henrietta has a Road Work Updatespage on its website that notifies residents of current projects. This page can be found under the Department tab / Public Works / Highway / Road Work Updates at www.henrietta.org. Stonebury Estates (This work has been completed)

Stonebury Estates Storm Sewer repairs will begin shortley on High Stone Circle, Stonebury Crossing, and Newstone Road. This repair will consist of in place pipe lining to reline the existing storm sewer system. The Town of Henrietta has contracted Skanex Pipe Service to complete the work. No excavation is required for this procedure and there should not be any disturbance to your daily activities. If an issue should arise, either the Town of Henrietta or Skanex will contact you directly. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. 2014 Sanitary Sewer Repair Project (OnGoing)

The 2014 Sanitary Sewer Repair Project This project generally consists of making spot repairs to existing sanitary sewers on Beaconsfield Road, Belmanor Drive, Cedarhurst Drive, Celia Drive, Chiltern Road, Crockett Drive, Crystal Valley Overlook, Eagan Boulevard, Lovelace Lane, Manordale Lane, Maple Valley Crescent, Nevins Road, Palm Desert Drive, Pinnacle Road, Post Hill Road, Rampart Street, River Meadow Drive, Riverview Drive, Riverview Heights, Rouge Road, and Strawberry Hill Road (Note: Additional streets may be added to the list during the project.) Existing sanitary flows will be maintained throughout the duration of the project. Any questions or concerns may be addressed to the Engineering Department at 359-7070 or by email.

These departments are responsible for the supervision, construction, repair, maintenance, and cleaning of all roads (including the Right of Way), culverts, sidewalks, storm water systems, park-lands, green areas and sanitary sewer systems (including pump stations) under the jurisdiction of the town.

Public Works has 42 full time, 6 part-time and 18 seasonal employees under the direction of the Commissioner of Public Works.

The Henrietta Highway Department is responsible for all maintenance on Town roads, as well as performing certain functions on County and State highways within the Town of Henrietta under contract to those respective agencies. These maintenance activities include:

  • Street maintenance, including pothole patching, concrete curb / gutter repair, catch basin repair, tree trimming / removal, crosswalk marking, street sign installation and repair, roadside drainage systems and driveway pipes (including flushing, etc. to eliminate flooding and maintain positive drainage ). Also included are capital improvements, such as concrete gutter replacement, road widening and/or recycling, and the resurfacing of Town roads.
  • Street sweeping of all Town roads, as well as State and County highways with either curbs or gutters.
  • Roadside mowing of all undeveloped Town roads, as well as County highways.
  • Snow and Ice Control of all State, County and Town roads within the Town, within the exception of NYS Route I 390 and the NYS Thruway. This also includes the repair of any damage done during the course of these operations to lawns and mailboxes.
  • Dead animal removal of carcasses from any small animals on any roads are picked by Animal Control, but deer carcasses on Town and County roads are removed by the Highway Department. alt

In addition, the Highway Dispatcher also acts as a clearing house for information on who and where to call for help with other public works problems which are actually the responsibility of other agencies, such as the Monroe County Water Authority, the Monroe County DOT, the NYSDOT, RG&E, etc..
